We are proudly announcing that Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller (Managing Partner at LEXcellence AG) is a discussion panel moderator, namely: Cryptocurrencies Regulation – Legal Issues and Challenges at ITechLaw Conference: 2022 European Conference & 50th Anniversary Celebration in Zürich, Switzerland. The panel will take place on October 21, 2022, from 09:00 to 09:45 CEST. The whole conference will take place on October 19-21, 2022. Cryptocurrencies Regulation – Legal Issues and Challenges (introduction): “Although cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin open many opportunities, authorities all over the world continue to face challenging questions about the nature and the regulation of cryptocurrencies because certain parts of this system and its related risks are largely unknown. The risks vary from fraud to contractual-related issues. This session will look into various legal aspects and regulations around the world: e.g. tax, AML, fraud, contractual matters, regulatory bodies etc.”

 

Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller has over 20 years of experience in IT, IP and FinTech law. She is a Founding Partner and Managing Partner of LEXcellence AG – law firm in Baar (Zug) as well as the President of Swiss-Polish Blockchain Association (an international organization that is building a bridge between the Swiss and Polish blockchain ecosystems). Katharina received her doctorate from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in 2003; as a scholarship holder of the Max-Planck-Institute in Munich. She is a graduate of the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, where she completed her LL.M. degree in 2004. Over the years, she has worked for several large law firms in Munich, Warsaw and Vienna. Between 2010 and 2015, she managed a global compliance program for a South African company. Katharina is also a visiting professor at Kozminski University in Warsaw, where she lectures on intellectual property and technology law; an attorney in Switzerland and Poland. She is passionate about disruption, digitalization and modern business. Dr. Lasota Heller deals with issues related to FinTech, NFTs and Metaverse on a daily basis.
