Switzerland is becoming a crypto-paradise — Atupri Health Insurance now accepts payments in Bitcoin and Ethereum

Switzerland is on its way to becoming the first crypto-nation, as it embraces cryptocurrencies with increasing enthusiasm. From February 2021, a few Swiss cantons will start to accept tax payments in Bitcoin and Ethereum, and one of the major insurance companies, Atupri Health Insurance, now also accepts payments in cryptocurrencies. Based in Bern, Atupri has 200,000 customers and generated approximately $887 million in sales as of 2019. The company decided to partner with Bitcoin Suisse, which will handle the exchange of cryptocurrencies, and fees associated with mining will be on customers, not Atupri. Perhaps that's one small step for the insurance company, but one giant leap for the crypto world.
