The EU published an official proposal for AI regulations
Recently, on April 21, 2021, the EU disclosed a proposal of a new regulation, which provides a unified approach to AI, amending legislative acts for AI purposes. Although the proposal took many years to develop, it’ll be remarkably useful in the next years as the use of AI increases. In the regulation, the commission recognized the potential and risks of AI. Consequently, 4 types of AI were prohibited. Articles 6-7 stipulate the criteria that’ll be used for defining if a system is a high risk or not. It is remarked in article 52 that transparency is mandatory when developing AI.
